Dear member, On behalf of your committee I would like to wish each and every one of you a Happy and Prosperous New Year. I am sure 2003 is going to be another great year for our club; your committee is already working hard on new projects. Our clubs Tuesday night meetings will resume on Tuesday 14th January 2003 at 7:30pm. I would like to give a big thank you to all the members who came and made our Christmas party the huge success it was and a special thank you to Jenny Calleja for the wonderful meal. You all saw how hard she worked on the day but believe me she was working weeks ahead planning and shopping. Thank you Jenny. Thank you to Santa, Frosty & Santa's helpers you did a wonderful job. We have had great feed back about the venue and if members are interested in having the same venue next year can you please let a committee person know so we can book early this time and again start a payment plan. And last but by no means least thank you to all the people who stayed behind to clean up, this helped us avoid a cleaning bill. To those of you who are entering Talent quests in Tamworth we wish you all good luck. Our own Jean Merchant has been nominated for a Tiara award and I am sure you join with me in wishing her all the best. Congratulations to Boots, Jason, Aimee, Travis & Michael (Frosty) on their great effort at the Sweeny's Carols by Candlelight. They sang their hearts out in 41-degree heat and not one of them wilted. Jason very aptly sang " The Thunder Rolls" as the storm came in and it looked like the lighting was right on cue. Thankfully the weather didn't take a turn for the worse until just before the end so with an early finale we all escaped fairly dry. The good news is we have been asked to repeat the performance for Sweeny's at their Christmas in July. Boots also got a booking from one of the other performers on the night. Hopefully young William will have recovered by now from splitting his sides at Marty & Emu I can honestly say I have never seen a kid laugh so much. I have copies of a CD that was recorded to raise money for the Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and not only features the carollers that sang at Sweeny's but special tracks put down by the M.C.M.C singers that were there on the night (Aimee, Jason & Boots). The cost of the CD is $10 with all proceeds going to a great cause. If you would like a copy give me a ring on 46281846 or see me at the club. I would like to thank Travis Collins for stepping in at the last minute to help out when Jean got sick. Travis had his own gig on that day down the South Coast but as soon as he was finished he jumped in the car and came straight up to Sweeny's. Thanks Travis! Wayne Chambers has been working on our web page http://www.macarthurcountrymusicclub.150m.com while we have all been having our Christmas break and he has done a wonderful job, don't forget to check it out regularly there are always changes. The newest changes being the addition of our Christmas party. Were you caught on candid camera go and have a look. Aimee's web page is also finished so while you're checking out the club page go and visit Aimee's page and sign her guest book. Any one wishing to add a web page of their own see Wayne. Normal Newsletters will resume in February. Janet Morgan |
